JANESVILLE--- Dr. David A. Smith, age 85, of Janesville died on Thursday, February 25, 2010. He was born in Gilmanton, WI on October 20, 1924 to Dr. Arthur D. and Chloe (Clark) Smith. He was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Medical School and during WWII served with the 102nd Infantry Division in Europe. He was married to Alice Ann Hammer on July 10, 1954. She preceded him in death on July 12, 2009.
He is survived by his two sons, Stuart of Madison and Dean of Janesville. At his request, there will be no funeral or memorial services. Burial will be in the Smith plot in Gilmanton, WI. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy memorials are preferred to Health Net. SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME is assisting the family with the arrangements.
