JANESVILLE--- Gabriele B. Gilbertson, age 51, of Janesville, died Saturday, March 6, 2010, at her home with her family at her side. She was born in Germany on May 7, 1958, the daughter of Horst and Erna Paula (Brandes) Walter. Gabriele married Robert Lafferty in 1977, and later married Fred L. Gilbertson in 1998. She was a CNA for Mercy Health System and also helped as a housekeeper. She loved camping, going to rummage sales and the Salvation Army thrift shop, sightseeing, and reading.
She is survived by her husband; 10 children: Diana (Chris) Flanders of Janesville, Robert Lafferty of Ingelside, IL, Gabriella (fiance' Michael Johnson) Lafferty of Janesville, twins: Josef and Kenneth Gilbertson both at home, Mary Ann (Tom) Casper, Amy Jo (Dan) Koivisto, Kim Marie Gilbertson, Todd Gilbertson all of Superior, and Paula (Allen) Sherman; 34 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brother, Helmut and sister, Elvira both of Germany. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2010, at the SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME with Chaplain Jim Davis of Mercy Hospice officiating. Visitation will take place on Saturday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME.
