The kid's and I have enjoyed and were blessed by the time we got to spend with my father-in-law, Leonard, and the children's grandpa. May you rest in peace. See you sometime in the future. Well, Dad,
Thanks for teaching me to give an honest day's work for an honest day's pay, and for being proud of me whenever I accomplished something.
Thanks for working so hard to put food on our table and to give us a home. Thanks for taking us to the races at the Rockford Speedway and at Jefferson.
I remember the Christmasses with all those presents under the tree and the ping pong table and the pool table and helping you with the bees and you and me putting in that wall around the toilet in the basement.
Thanks for letting me drive the rack truck to the bee yard when I was 16.
And thanks for doing the best you could with what was given you and for studying. I saw the "A"'s on your papers from college and I remember how you worked double and triple overtime at Dana Corp in Edgerton and how you wore out your body with hard work.
There were good times and bad times, and now we have only our memories. What is a man's life but a vapor that appears for a season and then vanishes? (James 4:14)
